Lab outing

After escaping the escape room and setting a negative record score at the local bowling alley, we stepped up the intensity level for our next lab outing. Mei had offered to take us along for her weekly fencing practice. After an intro on technique and etiquette, we got to gear up and take a stab at each other. Lessons learned: body height and arm length are poor predictors of outcome; good pipetting skills are not helpful for this sport; the masks are as poorly ventilated as they look; don’t expect mercy from Mei, no matter your status; I didn’t know I still had thigh muscles. A big thank you to Mike and the others for putting up with us!
